The German Embassy in Lilongwe is seeking to fill a position for a locally hired maintenance person, with experience in the field of plumbing work.

Duties and responsibilities

- Plumbing maintenance of all Embassy properties

- Support of the technical Embassy staff

- Small repairs, painting and general maintenance/ manual jobs within the Embassy properties

- Occasional setup and dismantling for events

Qualifications and Requirements

Technical

- Solid professional experience (minimum of 2 years) in the field of plumbing

- Malawi School Certificate Education

- Grade I Trade Test Certificate or equivalent

General

- Solid communication and teamwork skills in an international team environment

- Organizational skills and reliability

- Independent and responsible work ethic

- Technical know-how and understanding of craftsmanship

- High degree of physical resilience (heavy lifting and carrying)

- Flexibility and readiness to special working hours

- Valid driver’s license

- Basic IT skills

- Fluent English

- High motivation and good self-management skills
